The Department of Biology at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenured full Professor faculty position in Neurobiology (pending budgetary approval) to join a growing and interactive group of neurobiologists (http://bio.utsa.edu/neurobiology) in state-of-the-art facilities. UTSA is one of the fastest growing public universities in Texas and is undergoing a rapid expansion in Neurobiology. We have recruited 6 new Neurobiology faculty in the past 3 years, and expect to continue expanding our faculty in this area for at least the next 5 years. We seek an established scientist who would help to shape the future of Neuroscience at UTSA. The Department of Biology currently has 48 faculty members and offers B.S. and M.S. degrees, and a Ph.D. with concentrations in Neurobiology and Cellular and Molecular Biology.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a Doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent) in Biology or a related discipline. The successful applicant will have a well-established neurobiology research program including a record of sustained funding, productivity, and leadership in his/her field.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful applicant will be expected to maintain an active, externally-funded research program, lecture, train students in the laboratory, and to participate in other academic activities at UTSA.
