Neuroscience faculty members in the Department of Biology are actively involved in laboratory research seeking understanding into the function of the nervous system in areas of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neurodevelopment, molecular neurobiology, biophysics, imaging, and neural modeling. Using state-of-the-art tools for uncovering the secrets of the brain, research at UTSA will contribute to our understanding of neuropathologies including Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, schizophrenia, and epilepsy.
