Fall 2014 Welcome

Welcome to Biology and UTSA for Fall 2014. Classes begin on August 27th and if there is anything the department can do to make your semester more successful, please contact us. COS Roadrunner Days is Monday, August 25th, 3:00pm - 4:00pm outside the Flawn Science Building. There will be presentations called Intended Major Explorations—discussing programs with incoming freshmen, the appropriate strategies for success, and introduction of faculty. UTSA Biology Professor Awarded $300K NSF Grant

Fidel Santamaria, associate professor of biology in the UTSA College of Sciences, is one of 36 researchers in the nation selected to receive a two-year $300,000 National Science Foundation (NSF) Early Concept Grant for Exploratory Research (EAGER). The funding supports President Obama's BRAIN Initiative, a federal effort to support researchers to create new technology that will demystify complex brain processes.
